There are many useful self help techniques based on Open Focus approach. Remember you do not need to fully understand an idea of flexible attention to benefit from them. Just choose what you think would be useful for you and try it. I am going to publish more self help techniques soon. I will be grateful for all your comments.

DISSOLVING ANXIETY

.

Anxiety, panic attacks or chronic stress can affect everybody’s life in many ways making it gloomy, miserable and sometimes not worth living. Many people struggle with guilt, sadness, lack of confidence, shyness for the whole of their lives not knowing how to shake off or control those emotions. They can determine our behaviors and lead us to make bad decisions. We tend to assume it is a hard and long process to do something about them.

Dissolving anxiety in Open Focus has proved to be successful regardless what ‘the story’ is about. It dissolves a physical feeling which is associated to an anxious thinking. After the exercises you can think and perform without feeling worry.

DISSOLVING PAIN

.

Dissolving pain in Open Focus can be a very useful supplement to already existing pain therapies or a stand alone technique.
It works for headaches, back pains, arthritis, period pains, tooth ache and more. A 15-25 minute exercise will be long enough to significantly diminish or completely stop your suffering.

However it must be remembered that pain is like an alarm bell. It tells us that something is wrong and we need to seek medical help. It is therefore recommended that you do not use this technique before a reason for the pain is fully diagnosed. It is an excellent tool which can make your life a lot happier but it has to be used with caution.

FALLING ASLEEP

.

Many people struggle with falling asleep. They lie in bed ready to sleep but their minds are full of thoughts and they are unable to shut their brains down.

There are also many who wake up too early and are unable to fall asleep again (even if they still have a few hours before their alarm clock ring). It usually happens to people who cope with their anxiety during days but at night – when there is nothing to distract – it becomes very apparent and disturbing. After a few hours of sleep they wake up and worrying prevents them from falling asleep again. This may happen every morning over a long period and sufferers end up chronically tired. When this situation lasts too long they can develop chronic tiredness, which could lead to depression.

A falling asleep technique will allow you to deeply relax and fall asleep. It requires a bit of practice but often works from the first time you try it.
