This is a long version of the dissolving pain in Open Focus exercise.

Many of my patients have already participated in the exercise with steady, good results. Pain is usually significantly reduced after the first try, and for some patients the pain dissolves completely. Most of the patients achieve significant pain reduction after 4-5 days of regular exercising. I can reduce my physical pain with ease.

FAQ

For what type of pain does this exercise work?

You can dissolve any physical pain like headache, period pain, toothache, joint pain, muscle pain, backache, shoulder pain, stomach ache, earache, sinus pain, pain after injury, pain after a burn, fibromyalgia, CRPS. It works for long lasting, chronic pain as well as for acute pain. You can use this exercise to relax muscles in your shoulders or neck after all day at work.

Do I have to think positively before this exercise?

Positive thinking is always recommended. However, you do not have to set your mind in any way before doing this exercise. This exercise is based on science (brain waves research). It works regardless of your mood or personal belief.

Does it really work?

Will it still work when I do it on my own?

Yes, this is the whole idea. After Open Focus Training you will be able to free yourself from physical pain without being led through the exercise by myself.  My role is only to teach you how to become independent in applying Open Focus.

How long does the effect last?

It may be enough to do the exercise once to achieve satisfactory improvement. If you find that the pain has improved but is not completely gone, you can do the exercise twice daily for a few days. The full improvement can usually be achieved after 5-7 days of regular practice.

Does it work on colicky pain?

The important thing is to feel the pain during the exercise. When the pain is intermittent (on/off type of pain) you can memorise the pain (e.g. where it is, how big it is, where its borders are) and work on this area of your body during the exercise. It might be a bit more difficult, but it is possible and can give very good results.

How often can I repeat this exercise?

As often as you like. It will work each time you do it. If the pain returns just repeat the exercise.

If you have suffered for a long time and your mobility has been impaired (e.g. long term shoulder or lower back sufferers) you may get new pains after the exercise because you start using your body in a new, healthier way. If this happens, just do the exercise for these new pains to dissolve them too.

Do I have to know Open Focus theory before trying this exercise?

No, even if you know nothing about Open Focus the exercise can still work.

  1. I love this exercise. It is so simple yet so deeply relaxing. You don’t have to ‘try’ to do anything, not even breathe in any special way. Tomasz is gently encouraging all the way through. You just listen, and your body and the pain gradually ‘dissolve’ into a truly deep and peaceful state. As you listen you feel open and spacious and as one with your surroundings. The pain relief lasts for a while afterwards too. Anyone with pain would benefit from having this track in their pain relief ‘tool kit’ – and to use it daily.

  2. Tomasz’s Pain Dissolving exercise has really taught me how to dissolve pain. I had a backache which woke me up – due to lifting something heavy the day before. I used the Pain Dissolving technique and it dissolved it and I went straight back to sleep.

    I am lucky that I do not have any serious pains at the moment and so I have used this very successfully to dissolve itching of the eyes and scalp. I do not use harsh chemicals on my scalp and look after my eyes as recommended by my optician, so this itching is just an annoyance and I was so glad to be able to dissolve it. I think everybody would benefit from learning this. Even if I am experiencing some discomfort or a headache, it is wonderful to know that I now have the skill to dissolve the pain.

  3. Like all Dr Kopec’s files this one is brilliant! It’s enabled me to rapidly learn to dissolve pain and is so liberating. While I still use the audio for stronger pain, I have rapidly learnt to dissolve lesser pain quickly without even needing the audio now. I am in recovery from severe early trauma and often wake up in a lot of pain. Now I’m able to dissolve it quickly, even before I get out of bed, which makes a big difference to my day.

    While I find the original audios that Dr Fehmi created are effective for dissolving pain, I couldn’t readily learn to guide myself with them. I have found Dr Kopec’s approach really helpful and it has enabled me to quickly adopt this way of dissolving pain and anxiety without always needing to reach for my ipod. I also really appreciate Dr Kopec’s explanations of how these processes work – his presentation on how the Dissolving Pain works gave me the confidence to even taken on very strong pain that nothing has ever shifted before, and it worked!

    I very much appreciate the benefits I’m getting from all Dr Kopec’s audios.

  4. I am a non – professional runner, who runs for fitness and relaxation. Five months ago I developed a painful injury to my left knee, I had physiotherapy through my work and regularly took painkillers.  
    Recently this injury became far more painful, and for about four weeks the pain was constant and unbearable, I had an MRI which showed a complex medial tear and I was waiting to see the surgeons at the local hospital, I was taking all sorts of medicines, both in tablet form and topical gels.
    The pain was still increasing and I found I could no longer walk to work or even help my wife with our children, a six year old girl and a baby boy of 10 months. I was taking sick time from work and unable to sleep at night due to the pain.
    I booked a ‘same day’ doctors appointment after a particularly bad night and saw Dr Kopec, I explained to him about my symptoms and that I did not want to keep taking so many medicines. Dr Kopec explained to me that he was trying a new way of dealing with pain, aimed at this type of sports injury.
    I was so desperate, I would have tried anything!!
    I came back to the medical centre that evening, and I have to point out that I was feeling very sceptical about the whole process, not being a huge believer in alternate therapy’s! but Dr Kopec put me at ease and started the procedure, which only took a few minutes.
    The feeling afterwards was absolutely amazing! I felt no pain for the first time in months! I just could not believe it, pain free in just a few minutes! even reflecting on it and writing this, I still cant believe what a simple procedure it seemed to be, and yet the result was astounding to me! I remember being able to walk home comfortably, in absolute joy!
    Dr Kopec did warn me that the injury would not heal, it was only masking the pain, so I followed his instructions until I had my knee surgery to fix the tear.
    I would certainly recommend Dr Kopec and this procedure to anyone that was suffering from constant pain, the pain becomes so debilitating to everyday life, that this procedure is nothing short of amazing!

  5. I have a wedge fracture which causes an awful lot of pain across the lower part of my back.  Everyday things like sitting and walking are really painful.
    I relied on painkillers to sleep and get through everyday life.
    Now I have been introduced to the ‘dissolving pain exercise’.
    I first tried this treatment at night to see if I could sleep without taking painkillers, and yes, it did work and gave me 4-5 hours sleep. I then tried the exercise during the day, it does not take very long and you do not have to sit in front of a computer because it is easy to remember.
    At first I had to have quiet surroundings, but now I do the exercise whenever I can and just shut myself off to any noise.
    I still take painkillers, but not as many.  My pain is constant and, depending on what I do, can be really bad, but, by doing this exercise I can control the pain and carry on a normal life style without having to rely on the painkillers.

  6. I am 56 year old practice nurse and had suffered from chronic pain in my left shoulder for several months. The pain often kept me awake at night and seriously impacted on my ability to take exercise or perform normal activities. Since undertaking session of Open Focus training with Dr Kopec, my pain has now completely resolved. I am now sleeping at night, back at the Gym and swimming four times a week.
